Service Description
For makers who want to slow down and sink into the rhythm of making. These small-group sessions are about process, not perfection. Find a moment of calm in the quiet repetition of hand building, texture, and form. It’s not a meditation class, but it might feel a bit like one. You’ll have your own clay, shared tools, and plenty of space to explore intuitive, hands-on building. We’ll focus on simple techniques like coiling, connecting, and smoothing to create a decorative or sculptural form. This session is great for beginners or the clay-curious — anyone wanting a couple of calm hours to get your hands dirty and your mind off your phone. What to Expect - Please arrive about 15 minutes before class to get settled. We’ll start promptly at the scheduled time with a short hello and name exchange. - Each participant receives 1.5 - 2.0 kg of clay to work with. We’ll begin with a short sketching exercise — exploring the shapes and lines that naturally draw your attention when you doodle or drift. This helps you find a form that feels personal and intuitive. If you prefer, I’ll also have reference shapes and samples on hand for inspiration. - I’ll demonstrate a few simple handbuilding techniques and offer guidance as you bring your sketched idea to life. The focus is on your own exploration — following the form rather than forcing it. Music will be playing, and I’ll provide a beverage and a light snack. You’re always welcome to bring your own, too. Good to Know - Materials & Services included: stoneware clay, Bisque firing, glaze, Glaze firing, instruction over 2 days. - Expect about 2–3 weeks before your piece is ready for pickup — I’ll email you once it’s done. - Finished work must be picked up within 30 days. Unclaimed pieces may be recycled or re-homed. - Clay has its own personality — little quirks, cracks, and glaze surprises are part of the handmade charm. - Please arrive 15 minutes early, wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit messy, and silence your phone so you can fully relax and create.

Cancellation Policy
During the Session Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in. Wear something you don’t mind getting a bit messy — aprons are provided, but clay has a way of finding new places to land. Phones on silent are encouraged (you’ll want both hands for the good stuff). Cancellations & Rescheduling If something comes up, please notify me at least 48 hours before your session so I can adjust materials and planning. Because classes are small and materials are prepped in advance, last-minute cancellations may not be refundable. No Show Fee If you do not show up to class you will be charged the full amount without a refund. The Nature of Clay Clay can be unpredictable — cracks, glaze quirks, or small imperfections can happen. It’s all part of the handmade charm. I handle every piece with care, but I can’t guarantee perfection (and honestly, that’s what makes them special). Firing & Finishing All pieces made in class will be bisque fired once dry — this is included in your session price. If you’d like your piece glazed, depending on the class you take you have a choice. You can: Add a glaze finishing service: I’ll glaze your piece for you using one of my studio glazes that you choose (for an additional fee). Join a glazing session: Return to glaze your piece yourself with a studio glaze of your choice at a later date (priced separately. if not included in the class price). Firing and finishing take time — typically 2–3 weeks, depending on kiln load. I’ll notify you by email once your piece is ready. Pickups Finished work should be picked up within 30 days of notification. Unclaimed pieces may be recycled or discarded to make room for new work. Unfortunately, I can’t offer long-term storage — my studio’s cozy, not cavernous.
